BluSky Armor™ LED UV Finish Curing Room Examples
To take advantage of the increased profit potential of BluSky Armor™ finishes, a curing area must be arranged in the cabinet shop that utilizes UV lighting. We strongly recommend our LED UV curing lamps. Why LED lamps? The answer is simple – because they are a better long-term investment than the mercury vapor bulbs that have been available for years, and were the only game in town. LED bulbs burn cooler than mercury tube lights, eliminating the danger of a burn from the bulb or from “cooking” the clear coat by setting the bulb distance too close to tha finish surface. LEDs have a much longer bulb lifetime rating (50,000 hours) than UV tube lights (1500 hours).
To assist in visualizing how you can set up your own curing room, we offer two illustrations of uv finish curing room simulations. Both utilize an array of our 500 watt LED UV curing lamps. The first is for a medium sized area; the second is for a smaller or start-up room for those on a more modest budget. Even the largest of curing rooms utilizing our LED UV curing lamps is far less expensive than the UV systems with carousels and vapor bulbs that can cost upwards of $1 million or more.
MEDIUM SIZED CURING ROOM SIMULATION
This arrangement allows the user to cure a large cabinet on three sides and overhead simultaneously if needed. Each bank of lamps can be wired on its own breaker so that each may be operated separately, depending on the size of the monument being finished, and whether a completed furnishing or a flat panel is being cured.
Curing Area: Side Wall 4 ft. x 8 ft. (12 lamps); Rear Wall 4 ft. x 6 ft. (8 lamps); Overhead 5 ft. x 8 ft. (15 lamps); Portable Stand 3 ft. x 3 ft. (3 lamps)
For the cabinet shop that leans towards smaller aircraft with lower profile cabinet requirements we suggest a more modest approach to begin using BluSky Armor™ products. This set-up can handle smaller cabinet and panel finishing needs. The curing area illustrated here is three feet by six feet on the rear wall, and three feet by five feet overhead. The portable stand will cure a three foot by three foot area. Again, the booth wiring can be designed so that groups of lights can be operated independently from the others.
