AVIATION LEATHER

Leather starts out all the same. However, the skill and training of expert leather craftsmen can transform a simple animal hide into the finest leather available. Spectra Interior Products is proud to represent a leather manufacturer (we mean the company, NOT the cow!) that produces material that is crafted with an eye on tasteful quality, resulting in a fine product to be admired and treasured for years. They have such a selective grading system that most leathers classified as "mid-level" from other manufacturers only qualifies as their introductory grade level. Simply stated; "Good" is not good enough. While their leathers are superior in quality, they are actually quite affordable.

After the tanning process, they split the hides into their various layers. Only the top grains will become our leathers. Dye then introduces color to the hides. Since these dyes do not contain solids, the colors are transparent and change a hide's color only and the hide retains all other natural characteristics. This will result in color varying over the hide based on the cell structure of the skin, enhancing the marks of distinction and natural beauty of the leather. Finally, a finishing pigment coat and breathable protective layer bring the hide to its uniform consistent color that will add that consistent feeling of luxury to your aircraft.

Spectra, along with the tannery, is pleased to introduce their line of fine leather that has been flame-treated and is used by many commercial airlines today. Called Falcon, it is available in a wide array of fashionable colors and can be custom-dyed to your specifications. Our hides average 50 square feet.
